2027 HPC Trailblazer: What's New for the Latest Model Year

HPC Trailblazer full-carbon e-enduro bike with Rohloff hub

Every model year, riders ask the same question: what is actually different? For the 2027 HPC Trailblazer, the short answer is a new V2 power system, more options on the base model, and a wider choice of drivetrains. This post walks through the changes and where each Trailblazer fits. If you want the deep dive on the motor itself, we covered it separately in Trailblazer V2: What Changed on HPC's Trail E-Bike, so we will keep the motor section brief here.

The headline: the V2 power system

The 2027 Trailblazer arrives with HPC's new V2 motor system, which we describe as delivering more torque and better efficiency than the system it replaces. The 2000W build is the top of the range. For measured numbers, including dyno results, see our interactive V2 performance page and the V2 breakdown post.

More options on the base Trailblazer

One of the bigger changes for 2027 is that the base Trailblazer gets a wider option list. Features that used to be reserved for the top-spec bike are now available on the base model, including:

  • Wireless shifting: SRAM AXS electronic shifting, with no shift cables to route or maintain.
  • Rohloff E-14 electronic internally geared hub: a sealed, 14-speed hub with electronic shifting.
  • Gates carbon belt drive: available with the Rohloff setup, for a quiet, low-maintenance drivetrain.

The base Trailblazer is our do-it-all full-carbon trail bike. It starts from $6,800, and the current product page lists power levels of 750W, 1200W, and 1600W, with the V2 system being the new addition for 2027. Because this is a built-to-order bike, the exact configuration and pricing depend on the options you select, so confirm them with our team when you order.

Battery: 1050Wh

The 2027 reveal lists a 1050Wh USA-made battery on the Trailblazer. For context, the existing product page lists 52V USA-made packs of 546Wh, 728Wh, and 910Wh, with a maximum rated range of up to 45 miles on the 910Wh pack. Range always depends on rider weight, terrain, assist level, and how much throttle you use, so treat any figure as a ceiling rather than a promise.

Drivetrain choices, and a candid note on belt drive

The Rohloff E-14 with a Gates carbon belt is the most maintenance-free way to build a Trailblazer. The gearing is sealed inside the hub and the belt needs no chain lube. It suits the all-around rider: trail days, commuting, mixed-terrain adventures, and quiet rides near home.

Our position is clear, though: we do not recommend the belt drive for extreme, hard-charging enduro and downhill riding. If that is how you ride, contact us before you configure and we will point you to the right drivetrain. A chain-and-derailleur setup, or SRAM AXS wireless shifting, may suit that kind of riding better.

Interested in the hub itself? We stock the Rohloff 14-speed internally geared hub.

Trailblazer Pro for 2027

The Trailblazer Pro starts from $13,000 and remains the top of the Trailblazer line: a handbuilt, full-carbon, full-suspension enduro e-bike assembled in the USA. Its product page lists 750W (Class 1, 20 mph), 1200W, and 2000W builds, and drivetrain options including SRAM Transmission XX wireless shifting, the Rohloff 14-speed hub, and the Rohloff E-14 with a Gates Carbon belt drive option. Our latest Pro build pairs the 2000W V2 system with a 1050Wh battery, full SRAM AXS, and hand-built carbon wheels. Please check your local regulations before choosing a power level, since rules on power and speed vary by location.

Fat-tire options: Trailblazer AT and AT Pro

If you want a wider tire, the Trailblazer AT starts from $7,000 and the Trailblazer AT Pro from $12,000. Both are high-performance fat enduro e-bikes in the Trailblazer family. Contact us for the current spec on each.

Which 2027 Trailblazer is right for you?

  • Trail rider who wants the best value: the base Trailblazer, now with more options.
  • Rider who wants the most complete spec: the Trailblazer Pro.
  • Rider who wants float and traction on soft ground: Trailblazer AT or AT Pro.
  • Rider wanting minimal maintenance: Rohloff E-14 with Gates belt, for all-around riding rather than extreme enduro or downhill.
