Trailblazer V2: What Changed on HPC's Trail E-Bike

The V2 power system is the biggest change to the Trailblazer since it launched. It is HPC's exclusive, re-tuned Bafang M560 mid-drive, built to deliver more torque in every gear. Here is what changed and what the dyno shows.
What is new with V2
- More torque in every gear: HPC announced 185+ Nm for the V2 power system, which it describes as the highest torque in the e-enduro class.
- Lower-KV motor: the V2 trades a little top-end RPM for about 5% more torque and a fuller torque curve across the range.
- 2000W power system: paired with a 1,050Wh USA-made battery option for long days out.
- Fully programmable assist levels: tune the delivery from soft and technical to aggressive, with an optional throttle.
The dyno data
HPC dyno-tested the 2000W V2 system across all 11 gears, measured at the driven wheel rather than quoted as motor ratings. Results from the standard 38T chainring with a Shimano LinkGlide 11-speed cassette and 29-inch wheels:
- Peak wheel torque: 167.5 N-m
- Peak wheel power: 1.75 kW
- Measured top speed: 42.2 mph
Motor torque ratings and torque measured at the wheel are different figures, which is why the announced number is higher than the dyno result. Explore every gear on the interactive Trailblazer V2 2000W performance page, see the stock M560 V2 performance page, or read the torque and power curve breakdown.
Where V2 fits in the lineup
The V2 power system powers the Trailblazer family. The Trailblazer is the full-carbon trail bike, and the Trailblazer Pro is the handbuilt flagship, available with a 2000W V2 build, a 1,050Wh battery and SRAM AXS wireless shifting. For fat tires, see the Trailblazer AT and AT Pro. Compare all four in our Trailblazer lineup guide.
A note on drivetrains
When a Trailblazer is built with a Rohloff hub and Gates carbon belt, HPC does not recommend that setup for extreme, hard-charging enduro and downhill riding. It shines for the all-around rider who wants low maintenance across trail days, commuting and mixed terrain. If you ride aggressively, contact HPC and we will spec the right drivetrain.
