What is the Bafang H640?

The H640 (model RM G0900.750.D/DC) is a rear geared hub motor. Unlike a direct-drive hub, it uses a 1:5 planetary gear reduction, which means strong low-speed acceleration and confident hill-climbing from a motor that stays relatively light at roughly 12.3 lbs. It's rated at 750W continuous — but the headline number is what happens when you pair it with the right controller (more on that below).

Up to 2000W of peak power

Stock Bafang controllers will hold the H640 back to around half its potential. Paired with the HPC high-output controller, the same motor unlocks up to 2000W of peak output — making it one of the most powerful geared hubs on the market.
