Fast Electric Bikes for Sale: The 60-80 MPH Builds You Can Buy Today

HPC Revolution W, the fastest electric bike in the HPC lineup

If you are searching for fast electric bikes for sale, the useful question is which ones are actually available, what they cost, and where you can ride them. This guide lists the Hi Power Cycles (HPC) models that reach the 60 to 80 mph range, with specs and prices from the product pages, and summarizes what our earlier articles say about legal status.

Read this first: legal status

Bikes at these speeds fall outside the standard e-bike classes. Here is what HPC's earlier guides say, restated without additions.

  • The three-class system tops out at 28 mph and 750W. In HPC's street legal fast e-bikes guide, a bike built to do 60, 80, or 100 mph is described as operating outside the class system entirely.
  • In California, that guide says a two-wheeler that exceeds Class 3 limits on a public road or bike path is not treated as a bicycle. It falls into motor-driven cycle or motorcycle territory, which brings registration, licensing, and insurance requirements into play.
  • HPC's 70 MPH electric bikes article cites California Senate Bill 1271, effective January 1, 2025, under which any bike capable of exceeding 28 mph is no longer classified as an electric bike. It states these machines are off-road or private-property territory, or need moped or motorcycle registration.
  • HPC's 60 MPH guide and 80 MPH guide classify these models as "Off-Road Only" High Power Bikes, meant for OHV areas, private property, and closed courses rather than public roads or bike paths.

Rules vary by state and by location, and they change. Check your local regulations before you ride, and treat any of the bikes below as a private-land and off-road machine.

Revolution X: up to 10,000W and 65+ MPH

The Revolution X ($15,000) is HPC's flagship Revolution model. It offers power up to 10,000W and speeds of 65+ MPH. The product page lists a 203mm RockShox Boxxer World Cup fork, a Vivid R2C air shock with more than 9 inches of frame travel, Magura MT7 four-piston brakes, and the Schlumpf High Speed Drive. It is built in the USA.

Revolution: 5,000, 6,000 or 10,000W

The Revolution ($11,000) is the platform the X is built on. Its product page lists power systems of 5,000W, 6,000W, or 10,000W with a brushless gearless hub motor, and top speeds of 50 to 55 mph on the listed motor options. HPC's 60 MPH guide describes the Revolution as a 10kW-class machine reaching 60 mph in off-road mode. Standard range is listed at up to 55 miles, with optional batteries for 75 or 100+ miles. The frame is hand-welded 6061-T6 aluminum built in the USA.

Revolution W: 10,500W and 80 MPH

The Revolution W ($29,995) is a limited edition of 27 units built with Wayne Enterprises. It is listed with 10,500W of maximum power, 280 Nm of torque, an 80 MPH top speed, and up to 100 miles of range at a steady 20 mph on throttle only. It runs a 78V 27.9Ah USA-made battery and an HPC-tuned Nucular P24F controller, with EXT suspension and a Schlumpf High Speed Drive. It ships fully assembled in a custom crate.

Revolution MX and MX Pro: just below the 60 mph range

If your budget or use case is a step down, the Revolution MX and MX Pro are worth a look, but they do not reach 60 mph. Both product pages list up to 6,000W, a 100-mile range, and a 50 mph top speed.

Quick comparison

  • Revolution W: $29,995, 10,500W, 80 MPH
  • Revolution X: $15,000, up to 10,000W, 65+ MPH
  • Revolution: $11,000, 5,000/6,000/10,000W, listed 50-55 mph on the listed motors, 60 mph described for the 10kW class
  • Revolution MX Pro: $12,500, up to 6,000W, 50 mph
  • Revolution MX: $10,500, up to 6,000W, 50 mph

Top speeds are manufacturer figures. Rider weight, terrain, wind, and battery state all change real results.

Before you buy

  • Confirm you have private land, an OHV area, or a closed course where you can use full power.
  • Check current availability and configuration options on the product page.
