Which E-Bike Brands Are Actually Made in the USA

Black HPC Revolution electric downhill bike, built in the USA

Search for american made electric bikes and you will find a long list of brands using the phrase. The wording is loose, and the details behind it vary a lot from one company to the next. Rather than rank other companies, this guide gives you a way to check any brand's claim yourself, then shows exactly what Hi Power Cycles (HPC) builds in the USA.

Why "Made in USA" is hard to pin down

An e-bike has many parts: the frame, motor, controller, battery, suspension, brakes, and drivetrain. A brand can truthfully say something about one of those while the rest comes from somewhere else. "Designed in the USA," "assembled in the USA," and "built in the USA" describe different things, and a listing will not always tell you which one applies.

We covered this in more detail in What "Made in USA" Really Means for Electric Bikes. If you want the broader company story, see Why Hi Power Cycles Builds the Best American-Made Electric Bikes.

How to evaluate a "Made in USA" claim

Use the same questions on every brand you are comparing:

  • Where does the frame get built? Ask whether it is welded and finished in the USA or imported.
  • Where does final assembly happen? Ask who does it and where, not just where the box ships from.
  • Where is the battery made? The battery is one of the most important systems on the bike, and it is often the part that is imported.
  • What exactly does the label say? Look for specific wording such as "built in" or "assembled in," and ask for details on anything vague.
  • Who supports it after the sale? Warranty, parts, and service from a US team matter more once the bike is in your hands.
  • Can you get a straight answer? A brand that builds domestically is usually glad to explain how.

Any company that cannot answer these questions clearly is telling you something. Ask in writing so you have the answer on record.

What HPC builds in the USA

HPC builds every battery system in the USA. That covers the packs used across our lineup, and it is a good example of the battery question above: it is a system we build in-house rather than source as a finished part.

The following HPC models are made in the USA:

The Trailblazer lineup

The Trailblazer family is fully assembled in the USA and features HPC's USA-built battery packs:

The Trailblazer product page describes a full-carbon full-suspension trail bike with a USA-made 52V battery pack built into the frame, torque-sensing pedal assist, and an on-demand thumb throttle.

Matching a USA-built bike to how you ride

Once you have confirmed where a bike is built, the next question is what you want it to do.

  • Downhill and high-power riding: the Revolution family, from the Revolution MX and MX Pro to the Revolution X and Revolution W. The Revolution product page lists 5,000, 6,000, and 10,000W power systems.
  • Trail and enduro: the Trailblazer, Trailblazer Pro, and the fat-tire Trailblazer AT models.
  • Hardtail and all-around riding: the Scout and Titan models, which use a torque-sensing mid-drive with an optional throttle.
  • Utility and cargo: the MPUV, built around front and rear racks and an accessory mounting system.

High-power models are intended for private land and off-road use. Rules for e-bikes differ by state and by trail system, so check your local regulations before you ride.

The short version

Ask where the frame is built, where the bike is assembled, and where the battery is made, and get the answers in writing. For HPC, the answer is the USA across the models listed above, with every battery system built here as well.
