Choosing your drivetrain

The Trailblazer can be built with a traditional chain-and-derailleur setup or with an ultra-quiet, low-maintenance Gates carbon belt and Rohloff internally geared hub. Here's our honest take on the belt drive: we do not recommend it for extreme, hard-charging enduro and downhill riding. The belt-drive setup shines for the all-around rider who wants to do a bit of everything — neighborhood cruising, trail days, commuting, and mixed-terrain adventures — with the least possible maintenance.
