Up to about 40 mph: the Trailblazer family
The Trailblazer lineup is HPC's lightweight, full-carbon trail platform, and it tops out at around 40 mph. The Trailblazer Pro's 2,000W build reaches 38-40 mph. The Pro can also be ordered as a 750W Class 1 build limited to 20 mph for trails where only legal e-bikes are allowed, or as a 1,200W build that does 30+ mph. The standard Trailblazer starts at $6,800 and weighs just 51 lbs in its base 750W form.
The fat-tire Trailblazer AT and Trailblazer AT Pro bring the same idea to sand, snow and soft terrain. If you want a bike that feels fast on singletrack but still pedals and handles like a mountain bike, this is the family to look at. For the speed side, see 40 MPH Electric Bikes.
50 MPH: Revolution MX, MX Pro and Revolution
Fifty is where e-bikes have to be engineered as high-power platforms from the frame up. The Revolution MX (72V, $10,500) and Revolution MX Pro (78V, $12,500) are built around a 50 MPH top speed, up to 6,000W and up to 100 miles of range. The MX Pro's higher-voltage pack is the main difference. We compare the two in Revolution MX vs MX Pro.
The standard Revolution ($11,000) is HPC's long-running downhill platform. With the Thunderbolt motor it's rated at 50-55 MPH, and it offers 5,000W, 6,000W and 10,000W power systems plus battery options up to 100+ miles. For the full picture at this speed, read 50 MPH Electric Bikes.
60 MPH and up: Revolution X and Revolution MAXX
The Revolution X ($15,000) is the flagship downhill build. It comes with 6,000W standard and a 7,000W option capable of 60+ MPH, plus a 203mm Boxxer World Cup fork, Vivid R2C air shock and Magura MT7 brakes. The Revolution MAXX ($22,000) is a bespoke, extremely limited fat-tire Revolution that comes fully loaded. Its 10,000W hub-motor version is capable of 60 MPH. See 60 MPH Electric Bikes for more.
80 MPH: Revolution W
The Revolution W ($29,995) is the fastest bike HPC builds, with an 80 MPH top speed, 10,500W, 280Nm and up to 100 miles of range from a 78V 27.9Ah pack. It's a 27-unit limited edition with forged carbon bodywork, EXT suspension, Magura Gustav brakes and a full tech package. Full details are in Revolution W Specs, and the head-to-head with the X is in Revolution W vs Revolution X.
How to choose
- You ride trails and want a fast, light bike that still pedals well: Trailblazer or Trailblazer Pro.
- You want 50 MPH on a purpose-built downhill platform: Revolution MX, MX Pro or Revolution.
- You want the best downhill hardware and 60+ MPH: Revolution X.
- You want a one-of-a-kind, fully loaded fat-tire Revolution: Revolution MAXX.
- You want the fastest bike HPC makes: Revolution W.
Choose for the riding you'll actually do. A higher top speed means more weight, more battery and more demands on the rider. For most trail riders the right bike is not the fastest one on the chart.
Speed, safety and the law
US e-bike classes cap motor power at 750W and assisted speed at 20 mph (Class 1 and 2) or 28 mph (Class 3). Every bike above that line on this chart is meant for private land and off-road use unless it's registered as a motor vehicle where you ride. California's new SB 1167, effective January 1, 2027, adds mandatory disclosures and registration rules for higher-powered electric vehicles. Our street-legal fast e-bikes guide and 50 MPH guide cover the details.
